Kisan Nivas is located at just liesurely walk away from the Baug beach, the secluded northern end of Guhagar beach. On the way to the beach there is a temple which is of the 'gram devta'.Baug beach is a secluded stretch of beach and probably the prettiest nook of the Guhagar beach. The beach is the spot of confluence of a small river with the sea and the view of the small river meeting the sea with the suru trees bordering the pristine white sand beach paints a real pretty picture.

Sequestered between the Vashishti river and Jaigad creek Guhagar is small town on the Konkan coast with a beautiful secluded beach. Miles of pristine white sand beach lined with shady Suru trees, an ancient fort reminiscent of times of yore, revered heritage temples, and mouth watering sea food, this is what Guhagar has to offer making Guhagar a great beach holiday destination.

Anjanvel Lighthouse

The Anjanvel light house along with Tolekeshwar Temple is about 10 mins drive from Kisan Nivas. Perched atop a steep hillock it offers panoramic view of the sea and is a nice place to visit escpecially in the evening.


Asgoli or south Guhagar also has a pristine beaches and is equally secluded as Baug beach. A fishing hamlet Asgoli is 4kms from Guhagar bus depot and the main landmark in Asgoli is the Valukeshwar temple.

Gopalgad Fort

This ancient fort is located near Anjanvel - a 10 mins drive from Kisan Nivas, along the coast line near the Anjanvel Lighthouse. It is believed to be built at the start of 16th Century by the Siddis.


Modkaghar is about 10 mins from Guhagar bus depot with a small lake and a boating club where you can hire a pedal boat or a row boat to soak in the peaceful green surroundings of the lake.

How to Reach Kisan Nivas

Guhagar is one of main talukas of the nine talukas in Ratnagiri district. Chiplun is the nearest major town near Guhagar and also is the nearest railway station. There are frequent private and public buses from all major cities to Guhagar. Taxis are available from Chiplun to Guhagar if you are traveling to Guhagar by train.

Guhagar nestled in the backdrop of lush green hills with the virgin Guhagar beach is located between Dapoli and Ganpatipule. To reach Guhagar from Pune it will take 6-7 hours. There are multiple routes to get to Chiplun from Pune. From Mumbai the route is via NH17 up to Chiplun. Guhagar is about 40 Kms from Chiplun.
